At the 104th session which took place online from 9th to 25th August, the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) adopted follow-up letters to Colombia, El Salvador, Lithuania and Uzbekistan.
Within one year of the adoption of concluding observations, States parties are requested to provide information on the implementation of specific recommendations identified by the CERD (follow-up recommendations), in accordance with Article 9 (1) of the Convention and rule 65 of the rules of procedure.
One of the three categories (satisfactory; partially satisfactory; and unsatisfactory) is applied by the CERD to assess information from States parties on the implementation of follow-up recommendations. The table below shows the follow-up recommendations to the States concerned and the CERD’s assessments.
